In the interest of full disclosure....

I started my Christmas shopping.

I know, I know. I just ranted and raved about it being too early for Christmas decorations. But, you know? When there's a good deal, and considering that I'm going to be very busy the next couple of months, I thought it was a good idea.

So, I spent some time today picking up a few items. It feels good to at least have a start on it, and it doesn't hurt that I saved a ton of money.

Hmm, maybe it's time to decorate the blog for Christmas again....

Maybe not.

We're just Super

As in: Super Why

Mini Me is obsessed with this show, and has assigned us all roles. She, of course, is Super Why. I am Princess Presto. Hubby is Alpha Pig, much to his displeasure. And, our dog is Wonder Red.

Well, at least I'm a princess in someone's world.

It's beginning to look a lot like...

CHRISTMAS?!?!

WTF??????

OK, so I took a deep breath and walked past the Christmas stuff in the craft store a few weeks ago. I get that. If you are doing crafting stuff...it takes time. You have to start early. I'll go along with that.

But, what I couldn't ignore this weekend was walking into BJ's, only to walk smack into a huge blow up lawn decoration of the grim reaper standing across the aisle looking menacingly at the huge blow up lawn decoration of Santa and his reindeer. Not to mention the Christmas trees all lit up. Umm.... it is still technically summer, y'all.

And, that is all I have to say.

Apple Peach Picking

Mini Me is just bursting with energy these days, and we decided to take advantage of the beautiful early fall weather. We found a farm to go fruit picking, and they had a lot of other activities going on.

We had intended on going apple picking. Not that we really love apples or anything. In fact, I still have a bowl of apples sitting here from 2 weeks ago when I went grocery shopping. And, let's face it. I'm not about to make apple pies....not gonna happen.

But, it's all about the experience, right? Well, sort of. When we got to the orchard, we found out that for a small bag of apples, was $20. Ummmm, no. I could go to the store and buy the same bag of apples for $3.99. So, we decided to pick peaches instead. Again, we weren't in the market for pounds and pounds of peaches. A dozen was more than enough.

We also ended up with another pumpkin and had some ice cream and took a hayride. We had to bribe Mini Me with candy to get her out of the bounce house.

We had hoped that a few hours running around outside would help burn off some of that energy. Not so much....

But, here are some pictures of our day:

Pumpkins

I know, I know. It's a little early for Pumpkins. Believe me...October has been looming on the calendar in my mind for several months now.

But, since I already have Mini Me's Halloween costume, and I've got the house decorated for fall, and we might be a bit busy in the coming weeks (can't imagine why? ::looks over at ticker, and promptly reaches for a paper bag to breathe into::), I thought that after the fall fest this weekend where we got a mini pumpkin, we'd just go ahead and decorate it.

Mini Me was not in a good mood yesterday (AND, she didn't nap...which only compounded the problem..oh, yes. That's the next post...)

But, we tried. Here is the pumpkin...notice that Mini Me does not look very thrilled with the experience.

And, I got a new camera, yesterday...so, I've been playing around with it while Mini Me was freaking out in her room yesterday. Here is Poli...he looks thrilled to be the test subject, doesn't he?

Must be our lucky day

Once, when Mini Me was younger, we happened to find a ladybug in our house. Well, I should say Mini Me found it...and ate it. I only found it when I saw her chewing on something and went fishing in her mouth to figure out what she had eaten. GROSS!

Well, it must be our lucky day, because this morning, not only did we find another ladybug in our house, but Mini Me did not eat it this time. Instead, she just talked to it. A much better outcome, in my opinion, since we were able to scoop it up and as soon as we opened the door, it flew away to freedom.

Parents of the Year

That's us. Right here. Form the line for autographs.

We went to a fall festival today at a local farm. Lot's of fun dancing, games, tractor rides, etc. Pics coming soon.

But, what's really memorable about today is this:

Mini Me "won" this little teddy bear because of her awesome dancing skills. LOL Maybe they were just humoring her enthusiasm. Either way...fast forward to this evening when she was playing with said teddy bear.

The TV was on in the background (It's Sunday in fall, afterall. Gotta watch 8 hours of football, right??) There was a commercial that used the song Super Freak. Well, Mini Me picked up on it. Teddy Bear is now named "Freak".

Sweet.

Here is a sample of her creative energy at work:

She must be cute...

I take Mini Me to my appointments. As we were walking down the hall in the office, there was a couple sitting there waiting for their ultrasound appointment.

Of course, Mini Me smiled at them, and the woman said, "Oh, you are just so cute!" to which Mini Me said, "Thanks!" and kept on walking. The woman just started laughing.

LOL

She get's that a lot....in case you couldn't tell.

Just some pictures

"I can't eat snakes!"

Dinner time, Friday Night

Mini Me: What we have for dinner, Mommy?

Me: We're having steak.

Happy Birthday, Mommy

Wall letter disaster

So, here's the deal.

I took down Mini Me's original wall letters. Painted them white, then sanded them down a bit. The plan was to just repaint them to match the new room.

Um, no. Despite my best efforts, it's just not working. As handy and crafty as I've been lately, painting just appears to not be on my list of talents.

So, the letters are getting tossed, and now I have to find some other wall decor for the girls' room. I'm thinking of getting a canvas and using the paints to do some sort of thing to hang on Mini Me's side. And, I guess I could still do the baby's name on the wall, once she's named.

Oh, well. I tried. At least I can take that off my list of things to do....

It's 3am...

Why am I up at 3am, on my birthday, doing laundry and other assorted tasks? No idea....
